Through the Wayne State University Employee Assistance Program provided by ValueOptions, Inc., you have access to LawPhone which makes it easier to get the legal and financial help you need. You have access to a national network of 10,000 lawyers with experience in almost every area of the law, including divorce, child custody, adoption, bankruptcy, estate planning, taxes and even traffic violations
How does it work?
If you need legal or financial advice, call the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) at 1-800-852-0357. An EAP Counselor will assess your needs and arrange a consultation with an appropriate LawPhone professional.
Costs
Many services are free including: a telephonic financial information and advisory service utilizing a team of experts that include certified financial planners, certified public accountants and insurance specialists; telephonic consultations with experienced attorneys and financial experts; a half-hour face-to-face consultation with a lawyer in your community.
If additional legal services are needed, you will receive a 25% reduction in legal fees with a network attorney.
Restrictions
LawPhone attorneys will assist you in virtually any legal situation except the following :
Employment Issues...Advice will not be offered on potential legal disputes between employees and employers.
Corporate Law...LawPhone is not a substitute for corporate counsel. Questions pertaining to corporate law, including those generated from employee-owned businesses, will not be answered.
Second Opinions...Advice will not be given on how another attorney is handling a legal situation.
Third Party Callers...Individuals cannot seek advice to help someone else with their legal problems.
Investments...LawPhone's financial experts will not provide advice regarding specific investment vehicles such as stocks, mutual funds or bonds. They will provide advice on investment strategies.
