Steps on using WSU classified display advertisement templates with a secondary wordmark
(instructions also available in Word format to your left)

  1. Determine the publication(s) and the size of ad you will use (for example, Chronicle of Higher Education, 3-column ad).
  2. Download your selection by clicking on the appropriate button on the Web site.
  3. Follow the prompts to save the file to your desktop.
  4. Double click on the file on your desktop to open it.
  5. You must have the Stone typeface to produce the advertisement. If you do not have the typeface, complete an Approved Typefaces order form available at http://www.map.wayne.edu/tools_and_templates.php
  6. Insert graphic file of your school/college/division/unit secondary wordmark at the top center of the page. Secondary wordmarks are available at http://www.map.wayne.edu/wordmarks.php#secondary. Use the .tif file. To do this:

    • Place your cursor at the top center of the page.
    • Click on the Insert menu, choose Picture, then choose From File.
    • Select the folder where your secondary wordmark is located.
    • Select the secondary wordmark file.
    • Click on the “Insert” command in the lower right corner.
    • The file will be placed in the document.
    • Resize to the desired size by clicking on the wordmark and dragging one of the corner handles diagonally inward.
  1. Highlight “Type Job Posting Headline Here”
  2. Type in your headline.
  3. Highlight “Type your ad copy in approved Stone Serif typeface here, 10 point, flush left, no indent . . .”
  4. Type in your body copy.
  5. Proofread headline and copy.
  6. Click on the Tools menu, and choose Spelling and Grammar to double check your proofreading.
  7. Save the file, adding the name of your school/college/division/unit to the name. This will help avoid confusion when the file goes to print. Example: Rename the file from “Higher Ed 2 col display” to “Nursing Higher Ed 2 col display.”
  8. Print a clean original on white paper.
  9. Package carefully using a cardboard backing and mail to the publication. Do not fax.
  10. a) You may also send the file by e-mail. It will need to be in a Portable Document Format (PDF). You create PDF files using Adobe Acrobat. For a fee, you can obtain Adobe Acrobat from Adobe Systems at www.adobe.com.
    b) E-mail the PDF file to the publication using their e-mail address.
