Enroll in the TIAA-CREF Retirement Annuity (RA)

Complete a  salary reduction agreement and the TIAA-CREF RA application. Return both forms to the WSU Total Compensation and Wellness Office, 3638 AAB.

The Salary Reduction Agreement (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader) tells WSU how much you want to contribute to the retirement program, and how you want your retirement deductions split between the three options: TIAA-CREF RA, Fidelity, and TIAA-CREF GSRA.

The Enrollment Form for TIAA-CREF Retirement Annuities / TIAA-CREF Group Supplemental Retirement Annuities tells TIAA-CREF who you are, where you live, the specific funds you have selected, how you want your contributions allocated between these funds, and the names of your beneficiaries.

Enroll in Fidelity

Complete the salary reduction agreement and the Fidelity Account Application. Return both forms to the WSU Total Compensation and Wellness Office, 3638 AAB.

The Salary Reduction Agreement requires Adobe Acrobat Reader)tells WSU how much you want to contribute to the retirement program, and how you want your retirement deductions split between the three options: TIAA-CREF RA, Fidelity, and TIAA-CREF GSRA.

The Account Application for a Fidelity Investments 403(b)(7) Custodial Account tells Fidelity Investments who you are, where you live, the specific funds you have selected, how you want your contributions allocated between these funds, and the names of your beneficiaries.

Enroll in the TIAA-CREF Group Supplemental Retirement Annuity (GSRA)

Complete the salary reduction agreement and the TIAA-CREF GSRA application. Return both forms to the WSU Total Compensation and Wellness Office, 3638 AAB.

Change Your Retirement Deduction (i.e. increase, decrease, etc.)

Complete a Salary Reduction Agreement (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader) Return the form to the WSU Total Compensation and Wellness Office, 3638 AAB. There is no restriction on the number of times you can change your retirement deduction.

Stop Your Retirement Deductions

Complete a Salary Reduction Agreement (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader)Return the form to the WSU Total Compensation and Wellness Office, 3638 AAB. This will also cause any University contributions to stop.

Change Your Fund/Account Allocation

To change your allocation for future premiums, contact TIAA-CREF at 1-800-842-2776 or if you have Internet access and your pin number visit the Inter/Act portion of their web site. Contact Fidelity Investments by telephone at 1-800-343-0860 or visit the NetBenefits portion of their website.

Transfer Money Between TIAA-CREF Accounts

Contact TIAA-CREF at 1-800-842-2776 or if you have Internet access and your pin number, visit the Inter/Act portion of their web site. You can transfer some (generally at least $1,000 per account at a time) or all of your accumulation from one CREF account to another, or to TIAA’s traditional annuity or the TIAA Real Estate Account. Transfers from the TIAA traditional annuity take place in roughly equal installments over a ten-year period. There are no restrictions on transfers from the TIAA traditional annuity under our GSRA certificate. You cannot transfer accumulations from the RA to the GSRA. Transfers from the TIAA Real Estate Account are limited to once a calendar month.

Transfer Money Between Fidelity Funds

Contact Fidelity Investments by telephone at 1-800-343-0860 or visit the NetBenefits portion of their web site. You can transfer some or all of your accumulations from one Fidelity account to another. Redemption fees may apply on shares held for a very short period of time.

Transfer Funds Between TIAA-CREF and Fidelity

Call the company that will be receiving the transferred moneys. A representative from the WSU Total Compensation and Wellness office will have to authorize the transfer by signing the transfer form or preparing a letter of authorization. You can transfer some or all of your accumulation from a TIAA-CREF account to Fidelity Investments via a Fidelity Transfer Form or from a Fidelity fund to TIAA-CREF. Transfers from the TIAA traditional annuity under our RA certificate take place in roughly equal installments over a ten-year period. There are no restrictions on transfers from the TIAA traditional annuity under our GSRA certificate. Transfers to the GSRA are restricted to employee contributions only. Transfers from the TIAA Real Estate Account are limited to once a calendar month. Transfers from Fidelity may be subject to redemption fees if the shares being transferred were only held for a short period of time.

Transfer Money From TIAA-CREF or Fidelity To Other Companies

Call TIAA-CREF at 1-800-842-2776 or Fidelity Investments at 1-800-343-0860 for the form to transfer all or some of your accumulation to another 403(b)-investment provider. Active employees must also call the WSU Total Compensation and Wellness office at 313-577-3717, or visit our forms page, for a supplemental authorization form that must be completed prior to authorization of the transfer. Transfers from the TIAA traditional annuity under our RA certificate take place in roughly equal installments over a ten-year period. There are no restrictions on transfers from the TIAA traditional annuity under our GSRA certificate. Transfers from the TIAA Real Estate Account are limited to once a calendar month. Transfers from Fidelity may be subject to redemption fees if the shares being transferred were only held for a short period of time.

Call TIAA-CREF at 1-800-842-2776 for assistance or complete and return the TIAA-CREF Designation of Beneficiary form; contact Fidelity Investments directly at 1-800-343-0860 or complete and return the  Fidelity Investments Beneficiary Designation Form 403(b); or contact WSU Total Compensation and Wellness at 313-577-3717, for assistance.
