Flu Shot Clinics - H1N1 Vaccinations

Wayne State University in partnership with University Pharmacy will be holding H1N1 flu clinics for WSU faculty and staff November 16th-23rd at multiple sites on campus. The goal of these clinics is to vaccinate against the H1N1 virus, which is now widespread throughout the state of Michigan. As faculty and staff are exposed to many people (especially those in the higher risk categories) it is important to immunize in an effort to prevent the spread of disease.

Due to the fact that we have received a LIMITED supply of H1N1 vaccine, we are strictly adhering to the CDC guidelines for distribution. The majority of patients will receive the attenuated live vaccine in the form of the nasal spray. A very limited supply of the inactivated injection is available but it will be reserved for only those patients who meet the CDC guidelines for the injection. Due to the national shortage of injectable vaccine we cannot make exceptions to the guidelines.

COSTS
For members of Health Alliance Plan, Blue Care Network and DMC Care, the immunization is free to you and your covered family members (spouse and children age two and above).  You MUST bring your health insurance card, WSU One Card and a government-issued picture ID.

You will be required to pay an $18 administrative fee for the immunization, if you are enrolled in Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Total Health Care, Community Blue OR if you receive cash-in-lieu of medical insurance, OR you do not bring your health insurance card. You MUST bring your WSU One Card and a government-issued picture ID. Checks should be made payable to: University Pharmacy; cash (exact change only) will be accepted.

This clinic is only for faculty and staff as students can receive the vaccine at no cost from the Campus Health Center.
