Flu Shots

The Wayne State University Flu Clinics for 2007 have ended. A total of 766 employees were immunized this year.



Total Compensation and Wellness Department has partnered with the Visiting Nurses Association again to immunize employees against influenza. The immunization is free to Health Alliance Plan, Blue Care Network, Total Health Care and DMC Care subscribers. You must bring your health insurance card and WSU One Card or other picture ID. You must pay $25 for the immunization, if you are a Blue Cross Blue Shield or Community Blue subscriber, if you receive cash-in-lieu of medical insurance or do not bring their health insurance card.

MORE LOCATIONS! To increase participation and accessibility, we have expanded the number of locations where you can get a flu shot.  Five locations across campus will host flu clinics this year!

 FACES OF INFLUENZA. This year, Wayne State University is participating in the American Lung Association's Faces of Influenza national and regional campaign. WSU joins organizations across the country to help fulfill the national public health mission of increasing influenza immunization rates throughout the upcoming flu season.

Rules for the Day of Your Flu Shot Appointment

1)  The immunization is free to Health Alliance Plan, Blue Care Network, Total Health Care and DMC Care subscribers. You must bring your health insurance card and WSU One Card or other picture ID. You must pay $25 for the immunization, if you are a Blue Cross Blue Shield or Community Blue subscriber, if you receive cash-in-lieu of medical insurance or do not bring their health insurance card. Make checks payable to: VNAHSS (Visiting Nurses Association Home Support Services); cash accepted, exact change only.

2) Wear short sleeves. Immunization given in deltoid (upper arm) muscle.
