  Social Security Changes Earnings Maximum for 2008

The maximum amount of earnings subject to the Social Security tax (taxable maximum) will increase to $102,000 from $97,500. Of the estimated 164 million workers who will pay Social Security taxes in 2008, nearly 12 million will pay higher taxes as a result of the increase in the taxable maximum.

 Keeping Your Benefit Records Up-to-date

If you are recently divorced, please note that former spouses are not eligible for continued coverage on your medical and dental plans beyond the last day of the month in which the divorce/separation date occurs. You should complete and return a Medical Plan Termination Form (pdf) to the Total Compensation and Wellness department within 30 days of the date of divorce. The formerly covered ex-spouse and other dependents whose coverage ends because of the divorce are eligible for
COBRA continuation coverage.
